A new year, a new recall or two. This time its a tinkerbell lamp, and a clown fish bank.
Even though this lamp isn't the one sold in Disney Stores, I wasn't about to buy the one the Disney Store had on for 40% off this weekend. Better safe then sorry.
China's biggest export must be lead paint on toys. As a father, I refuse to buy anything from China if I can help it.
I bought the two disk Transformers HD-DVD set last week, as I was a huge fan of the original television cartoon. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed. The movie in HD-DVD format looks and sounds amazing. I think it's the best HD-DVD title I've seen so far.
There's a whole second disk full of extra features, but I haven't viewed any of them yet. Plus there's some web-enabled content available for download via the internet.
All in all, a great movie for family movie night.

A great outdoor activity, or even a birthday party idea, is apple picking.
My kids went to a birthday party at a local orchard, and they loved it. After picking the apples, some they took home to eat, and some they made into a great apple pie! Much better to bring home than a loot bag.
Check with your local orchard for details on day trip events, or to reserve a birthday party.
It's fun, a nice day outside, and at the end of the day, you have some nutritious snacks that your kids will want to eat, because they picked them themselves.

I'm a widowed single father of three great kids, a son who'se seven and identical twin girls that are four.
I've looked around the various parenting blogs and web sites, and there are a ton of great ones out there. But most of the parenting blogs for fathers seemed to be biographical in nature, leaving the helpful hints to the "Mommy blogs".
Hopefully thsi blog will help fathers like myself, who do their best to be a great father for their kids.
